Tuesday, March 7, 2023 I took advantage of a rare break between rainstorms and drove south on Highway 1 from Monterey to Big Sur this afternoon. It was a glorious day!
After stopping at several of my favorite spots, I watched the sunset to the west over the endless Pacific Ocean, then drove north to the Monterey Peninsula and witnessed the full moon rising over the same ocean in the east.
There are very few places where you can see this phenomenon. It's possible because of the gentle curved shape of the Monterey Peninsula.
